surface and texture
Among-st the display and show of the North American International Auto show that lands in Detroit every year and starts of the New Year properly. All auto brands gather and try to convey their brand in a third dimension.
WHY?
Well the answer is quite simple really. A brand is trying to create an emotional connection with its attendees for it is not as simple as having automobiles for purchase it is about selling a brand, and have people enjoy that brand so much that they themselves become brand ambassadors.
It is environmental design and every aspect has a reason for existence. Every surface tells a story. The walls, ceiling, flooring all strive to work in unions-ion.
Sometimes it is breathtaking and takes your breath away you stand in a exhibit and lose yourself in the brand.
Other times it is hard to navigate, overwhelming or not effective in allowing you as the attendee to feel anything but frustration.
Let us not lose sight of the stars, not the architecture which should always be secondary, the movable sculptures whose lines are dynamic and strong.
Before I show you all of the wonderful car displays at the North American Auto Show- let us investigate the surface and texture.
