the father of deconstructivism

Frank Gehry celebrates his 84th birthday today. A man who I admire for his fearlessness and desire to challenge what architecture is. He humanizes his structures giving inanimate objects life and spirit. His forms are breathtaking. They are sculptural painterly and gestural. He is able to reexamine the preconceived notions of what a building is and shake it to its core.

He is bold.

He is experiential.
