the manifestation of the still life.

My grandmother taught me that it was important to know the fundamentals of painting of observing before you broke any rules.  I am still learning the delicate balance of patience  mixing colours, and creating what you see which means stripping all the preconceived notions of what those objects are to the fundamental shapes.  It is not an orange it is a sphere whose color is simply not orange but yellow, red, brown, green...

I have never shown my work in progress but something about this one...I feel connected to. I had started it a long time ago and abandoned it, and recently returned to her. It has been an amazing release. I wanted to share its progress as a weird therapy for me.
